11/13 cell processes

In-Class:
Students received the cell project outline and grade sheet. We reviewed many possible ways to create the cell. I introduced students to "silent note passing;" not the kind they may have been doing on their own socially. This is a way for students to read through material from a text while questioning one another, in writing, about their understanding of the material. Students really seem to like this and it helps reluctant readers get through material they may not have otherwise. The process slows down readers who skim quickly but may miss key points unless they stop to answer questions.

We also played a whiteboard game to review the cell organelles.

Homework:
Study organelles and their function for the quiz. Review materials from text pp.32-37.
